The BK series has a swiveling stainless element in the bottom half, allowing it to be precisely located on your optical bench or breadboard. The top half kinematically locates on balls and sockets to locate in the same position every time you remove and replace it. Part of Newport’s BK series of Kinematic Mounts, this is a good comprimise between size and stability. The top element of this base is drilled and tapped to accept Newport mounts and positioners.
